Option 1: The Christmas Story
This is a classic Christmas play that tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The play can be performed by a cast of any size, and it is perfect for churches that want to share the Christmas story in a simple and straightforward way.
The play begins with the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary and telling her that she will give birth to a son. Mary is confused and afraid, but she agrees to do God's will. The play then follows Mary and Joseph as they travel to Bethlehem for the census.
When they arrive in Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph find that there is no room for them at the inn. They are forced to stay in a stable, and it is there that Jesus is born. The play ends with the shepherds and the wise men coming to visit Jesus.
Option 2: The Gift of the Magi
This is a one-act play that tells the story of the three wise men who traveled to Bethlehem to visit Jesus. The play is a beautiful and moving story about the true meaning of Christmas.
The play begins with the three wise men traveling to Bethlehem. They have been following a star that they believe will lead them to the newborn king. When they arrive in Bethlehem, they find Jesus in a stable.
The wise men bring gifts for Jesus: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. These gifts represent the three different ways that people can worship God. Gold represents our material wealth, frankincense represents our prayers, and myrrh represents our suffering.
The play ends with the wise men returning to their own country. They have been changed by their experience, and they now know the true meaning of Christmas.
These are just two of the many Christmas plays and programs that are available for small churches. If you are looking for a way to share the Christmas story with your community, consider putting on one of these plays. It is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
